Mary River Rattler
The Ionic Mary Valley Rattler is step back into the romantic days of Steam power . Joint the Rattler at historic Gympie Station where the staff are dressed as they would be during the heady days of Steam transportation .
Enjoy a devonshire tea either on board or at the snack bar before the journey . The train stops for a light refresment break at Kandanga here you can purchase one or two of the famous home made sausage rolls and a cup of coffee or tea. Back on board as you travel along the tracks locals venture from their homes to welcome the visitors to their valley , you will cross a river and a road at the same place where the crossings are diagonally opposed . The train crosss the beautifu Mary River giving wonderful views of the valley in both directions . All the best scenic points are explained by the volunteer train conductors who give continous comentary about the Mary Valley . You stop at Imbil where the locomotive is turned on a turn table for the return afternoon run . On the day tour you will leave the train here and travel to Kenilworth for your lunch then its off to discover the rainforest and more of the wonderful Tamar Valley . | ||
